Polaris Joins Central Lakes College and Leading Powersports Dealer to Provide Service Technician Education Program
To fill their ever-growing motorcycle jobs, Polaris, revealed last month, the formation of a groundbreaking training program. This program is specifically focused to train powersports technicians who will ultimately gain Polaris jobs. The Service Technician Education Program (STEP), serves as a pilot to meet the demand for motorcycle technician jobs. The program connects students with new vehicle technologies to grow the technician work force with a $1 million grant.
While 2020 saw a lot of industries struggle, the marine and powersports industries saw growth. STEP provides hands-on training, with an in-dealership experience at a Power Lodge Dealer during educational training at CLC. Moreover, students will be paid for their work as student motorcycle service technicians in training.

What Can Be Expected and When?
Polaris, Power Lodge, and CLC estimate training 80 student technicians and 89 staff. Many of whom will be offered Polaris jobs upon graduation. Thanks to the proven success of CLC and Power Lodge leadership, more Polaris educational partnerships will soon gain access to the modified curriculum.
Polaris, CNC, and Power Lodge will initiate construction of the foundational capabilities of this pilot program right away. Full implementation at CLC is expected to begin in the 2022-2023.
