Motorcycle sales jobs are ideal for anyone that happens to be mechanically inclined and/or experienced in and good at sales. The sales industry has been around since before your grandparents were born, and it is something that stands to stay around for some time. Dealership sales jobs or the more door to door approach are versatile career paths that encompass practically any product or service within the industry. From small parts and engines, to entire motorcycles, your specialty is your choice and all sales jobs are imperative to keep the bikes of the world successfully a rolling. Through sales jobs and other, more general motorcycle sales jobs, a new salesman is born practically every day.
Whether you are looking to work directly within the parameter of motorcycle dealership sales jobs or in a more virtual environment such as a motorsport marketing job, there is room for all. From those currently involved in sales to those looking to start a career, motorcycle sales jobs can be a bit tricky. That is why we are here today to discuss the current market and what this industry actually entails. Ideally, this information will help any interested parties to decide whether or not motorcycle or dealer sales jobs are right for them. In order to make your decision, one must first take a look at today’s sales market.
The Modern Motorcycle Sales Market
Reflecting back on 2017, you will see that United States citizens purchased some 472,000 total motorcycles. Unfortunately, this number is quite less than the overall number of bike purchases in 2007 which was around one million. As a long-time leader in the industry, Harley Davidson is currently selling the most bikes of any company in the world. In turn, dealership sales jobs are prevalent within such a company. Harley Davidson is able to stand out thanks to a collection of qualified people operating within successful sales jobs. However, they are beginning to feel some heat from lesser-known companies, as millennials are looking to spend less money in an increasingly rough economy.
Companies like BMW, Yamaha, and Honda are currently seeing a steady rise in motorcycle sales, making these companies more ideal to get involved with. While the dream might lie with Harley Davidson for most motorcycle enthusiasts, it turns out that the money currently lies with these smaller companies. Therefore, you may want to consider switching your goals if you hope to reach optimal success in high-quality motorcycle or sales jobs. In fact, these companies stand out as industry leaders WORLDWIDE. In 2018 alone, Honda sold approximately 19.6 million motorcycles worldwide with around 313,000 bikes being sold specifically within North America. In the end, motorcycle sales jobs are excellent if you are willing to adjust your goals, learn about other companies, and shoot for the stars!
