Summary Description
Repair, customize, maintain or overhaul both customer and dealer owned motorcycles as close to the allotted time schedule as possible with excellent quality
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Provide prompt, dependable, high quality motorcycle service
Continually improve in efficiency and skill
Maintain productivity as close to 100% as possible
Accept work assignments from Service Manager
Request parts for the job as early as possible
Perform service, repair and customization work in accordance to factory specifications
Assist Service Writers when requested with communication with customers, test riding motorcycles or any other issue which will help ensure customer satisfaction
Notify Service Manager/Writer of additional work needed or any delays in expected completion as soon as they become known so the customer may be contacted and notify of the delay
After a job is finished ensure proper completion and filling of paperwork
Keep work areas clean and assist others with maintaining shop cleanliness
Maintain technical (PHD and other) qualifications by completing and necessary training programs assigned to you by the Service Manager
Customer Service
Minimize come-backs and deal with them promptly and satisfactorily when they do occur
Keep customer’s motorcycle cleaner then when it was dropped off
Other Duties (could include)
Assist with new motorcycle unloading and set-up
Wash motorcycles, ensuring that they are cleaner than when they came in
Delivery and pick-up customer and dealership motorcycles
Ensure shop and building are clean and free of trash
Qualifications & Job Requirements
Completion of factory authorized training program such as MMI or equivalent work experience
Current valid Driver’s License (Motorcycle endorsement a plus)
Must pass a background check
Service Technicians need booth basic and special tools to properly diagnose and service our products and these are not supplied by Roughneck Harley Davidson
Physical Demands
The noise level in the shop is usually loud
Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, handle tools and lift 50lbs or more
Frequently requires the ability to balance and push a motorcycle
Working Conditions
Frequently works around moving mechanical parts
Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials or other toxic materials commonly found in a motorcycle service department
Occasionally exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles

Model superior customer service behavior for all interactions with customers and other team members
Be prompt and available for flexible scheduling
Maintain up to date technical qualifications (PHD and others) by completing all training programs assigned by the Service Manager
