Overview

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Software Programming Engineer to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. This role will design and lead development of integrated graphics and visual effects systems of boat systems such as digital gauges and boat IoT devices and work as the window person collaborating with hardware and software developers.

 

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Set high-quality and fully performing technical requirements which exceed industry requirements and customers’ need
  • Testing and evaluating new programs at simulation environment and on the water and provide appropriate feedback quickly
  • Collaborate with internal team and partners to manage our quality, cost, and delivery time of graphics user interface
  • Study and propose future user interface system for Yamaha boat power system
  • Work closely with engineers on small cross functional multidisciplinary team.
  • Must be able to join business trips to understand the market and look for good technologies.
  • Train and facilitate other engineers with his or her specialties
  • Collaborate with both domestic and overseas suppliers
  • Must be able to travel to Japan regularly.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Hands-on programming experience using relevant languages.
  • More than 3 years working experience as a graphics engineer is preferable
  • Proficiency developing software for complex systems.
  • Experience collaborating with other functional teams to seamlessly integrate software and hardware systems.
  • Experience using Unreal engine, CAN Bus communication protocol, Linux
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Must be able to adapt to different cultures
  • Must have strong communication skills
