Job outline
Responsible for the management and supervision of the following functions:

  • In shop service and repairs of Polaris made products including but not limited to UTV’s, Ranger, RZR, Generals, ATV’s, Slingshots, Gem cars and any and all future products produced by Polaris and sold by Iron City.
  • In shop service and repairs of non Polaris items that Iron City may add from time to time to the product mix
  • In shop set up of new units for retail sales
  • In shop estimates and repairs to trade in units
  • Field service and repairs of certain Polaris made products
  • Plant, plant equipment maintenance and repair, general housekeeping and security measures oversight
  • Warranty repairs per manufacture guidelines
  • Technician training programs to maintain gold status with Polaris at all times as well as silver status for all technicians on board more than 1 year
  • Environmental and safety program compliance
  • Enforce all policies and procedures in company manuals
  • Maintain high employee morale
  • Maintain excellent customer relations
  • Build the service department  from 4 to 7 technicians billing a minimum of 65% of total time purchased 

 
 Duties

  • Assist with forecasting, planning and maintaining budgets and goals
  • Forecasting of capital expenditures
  • Create departmental achievable and quantitatively measurable objectives directed to employee productivity, customer satisfaction, market penetration and profitability
  • Employee reviews conducted on a  semiannual basis including wage review and adjustments per performance and market trends combined
  • Responsible for determining repair methodologies and job flows to maximize the effectiveness, the efficiency and the customer satisfaction of the service functions
  • Timely and proper billing of all service related items including technical time and other services rendered
  • Management and oversight of all warranty related repairs leading to optimum collection of warrant reimbursements at the maximum opportunity
  • Develop and monitor performance standards and measurements
  • Develop and maintain all service efficiency and management reports through company business system (EVO)
  • Maintain competitive compensation and incentive programs for service job functions
  • Recruit, hire and train all service employees
  • Plan for, schedule and administer educational and training programs for company policy and procedures as well as factory authorized training programs
  • Provide professional direction and leadership required to achieve professional technical profitability and quality standards
  • Observe service personal in repair circumstances and provide necessary coaching to further develop diagnostic, safety, clean, efficient and effective high quality work
  • Handle necessary disciplinary issues with professional insight and planning to bring about positive results or change

 
Job Requisites

  • The individual in this position should be personable, a problem solver, a leader of people, ethical, technologically schooled, and able to adapt to all of the forces around them-customers, suppliers, department employees, co-workers, and related business partners.
  • The ability to attend to work at the location address during normal working hours as well as being available for circumstances arising periodically requiring management oversight outside of normal hours.

 
General skill requisites

  • Strong organization skills including comfortable use of computerized scheduling
  • Positive communication skills using verbal, written and electronic means to interact with customers, co-workers and suppliers
  • Excellent customer relation skills to insure customer satisfaction is kept at the highest level attainable in our industry group
  • Good computer skill set with knowledge of business system software as well as the outlook suite of business tools

 
Specific skill requisites

  • A good working knowledge base of outdoor power products, combustion engines, various drive trains and electrical systems
  • Solid shop floor management experience and knowledge
  • Good understanding of sound financial and accounting principals
  • Practiced and proven supervisory and management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a repair shop environment
  • A solid understanding of pricing principals as it relates to the sale of labor

We are postiioned in central Maricopa and Pinal Counties through our operatons in Phoenix and Casa Grande.  We provide parts, service and support for the Polaris branded products we sell such as Rangers, RZR's & General SxS's, Sportsman Quads, and Aces, Slingshot on road vehicles, and the full Gem Car line up of electric transportation.
