Overview

Overview of Position:

·         Manages employees and operations of the service department

·         Provide prompt, dependable, high quality vehicle service to (internal and external) customers

·         Maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction

·         Responsible for budgets, goals, and objectives

·         Oversee completions of warranty claims

·         Provide the highest level of customer service

·         Maximize productivity of the service department

·         Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times

·         Develop and Implement procedures, or promote those already in place, in conjunction with other appropriate departments, which ensure a smooth flow of parts to Service Technicians during jobs

·         Review work-in-progress to ensure quality and timeliness

·         Maintain service follow-up programs

·         Maintain budgeted revenue and expense objectives

·         Develop promotional campaigns in conjunction with the parts and sales departments

·         Work in harmony to promote teamwork, and respect with all employees, departments and customers

·         Maintain efficiency and other reports to General Manager

·         Provide and/or coordinate necessary training for new service employees

·         Ensure accuracy and proper distribution of all paperwork – both internal & external

·         Develop monthly and annual objectives for the department in collaboration with GM

·         Attend virtual and in-person training to keep current with service department issues & campaigns as needed

Qualifications & Skills:

·         Prior experience in a management role preferred

·         Excellent Communication Skills

·         Must be an effective leader

·         Able to take direction

·         A professional & approachable attitude and appearance

·         Comfortable with basic technology, programs, terminology, and processes relevant to position and industry

·         Become familiar and efficient with all phases of the computer system required for service and parts management

·         Knowledge and experience with Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and other products sold by the dealership, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn them

·         Experience with point-of-sale and parts and service management computer software or the ability to quickly learn due to experience with other systems

·         Be honest and fair in all business dealings

·         Current license with motorcycle endorsement and good driving record

·         Ability to operate and maintain the department within dealership guidelines
