Overview
Professional, growth oriented, well-established Dealership in the Scott/Lafayette, LA area needs your overall Service Technician expertise and broad-spectrum mechanical experience to contribute to the strategic development of our Service Department.
You will be responsible for processing all service department functions; including a high degree of customer service and satisfaction through repair, customize, maintain and/or overhaul both customer and dealer owned motorcycle vehicles as close to the allotted time schedule as possible with excellent quality, and provide weekly reports.
If you have exceptional motor vehicle repair craftsmanship and customer service skills, a can-do attitude that enjoys a team environment that prides itself on excellent customer service and creative problem solving skills, you may qualify for this position. This position reports directly to the Service Manager.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide prompt, dependable, high quality, motorcycle vehicle service to (internal & external) customers;
- Complete repair work within the scheduled or allotted time period whenever possible;
- Maintain productivity (time spent on billable jobs) as close to 100% as possible.
- Accept work assignments from the Service Writer and/or Service Manager;
- Request parts for the job as early as possible when needs become known;
- Perform service, repair & customization work in accordance to factory specifications;
- After the repair order/job is finished ensure proper completion & filling of paperwork;
- Keep work areas as clean as possible & assist others with maintaining cleanliness;
- Minimize come-backs and deal with them promptly and satisfactory when they do occur.
- Keep customer’s vehicle cleaner than when it was dropped off.
Experience Desired: - Three (3) plus years of extensive Service Technician work in a dealership industry;
- Completion of a factory authorized training program such as MMI Service School or equivalent work experience;
- Vehicle repair service experience with repair knowledge and the use of quality customer services in a dealership industry is required;
- An Associate’s degree from a Trade School with an emphasis in engine/vehicle repair trade industry is desired, however, solid experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
- Current Motorcycle license from the State of Louisiana
- Dyno experience a plus
