Barney’s of Brandon is seeking an experienced Service Department Manager to come in and lead our existing service team. The Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all teammates deliver exceptional 5-star service to our guests, through effective communication of vehicle issues and proposed solutions, as well as consistently meeting guest’s expectations for time commitments and quality – resulting in excellent customer service scores. The Service Manager should be a capable leader with the ability to organize, train, and supervise personnel while maintaining good employee relationships and creating a good work environment. The Service Manager should also be capable of operating the department at maximum production, while maintaining department assets, controlling costs and contributing to the overall profitability of the dealership. The work week is Tuesday through Saturday, with Sundays and Mondays off.

Job Requirements:

Valid in-state driver’s license (with motorcycle endorsement) with acceptable driving record
Ability to test drive vehicles and evaluate problems/defects
3-5 years of experience in a motor vehicle service department
2+ years of supervisor/management experience
Demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment
Ability to implement and follow processes
Prior sales experience in products/services requiring upselling techniques
Excellent time management and prioritization skills
Exceptional customer service and customer relationship building skills
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Stickler for customer follow up
Ability to read, listen, analyze and interpret written/verbal information and instructions
Good business understanding of service department financials with knowledge of how to affect the numbers
Possess knowledge of the technicalities related to the servicing of powersports products
·       Comfortable with computers, and service reports, with ability to learn new software programs.

·       Must have internet proficiency.

·       Must have strong moral principles

·       Must pass a drug test and background check

Job Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain a good working relationship with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
Ensure that customer inconveniences, complaints and misunderstandings are dealt with fairly and quickly
Communicate with customers before issues arise and get involved in escalated customer issues
Ensure that proper service sales techniques are being used
Direct and schedule the activities of all department associates
Hire, train, motivate, counsel and monitor the performance of all service department staff
Develop a path for career growth of service staff and audit certification tests
Maintain a standard for cleanliness and safety in the department
Report to management any circumstances that compromise the integrity of the dealership
Assure proper repair order flow to satisfy warranty/dealership/business office requirements
Maintain reporting systems required by general manager, company and manufacturer
Work with the parts department as appropriate to ensure proper stocking of high use parts
Ensure that department meets qualifications for OEM certification
Obtain competitive bids on all tools, equipment, sublet repairs, supplies, etc.
Ensure that service department employees follow safety policies and practices and that they report any and all accidents immediately
Ensure that all required technical/safety publications, periodicals, bulletins, etc. are obtained, kept up-to-date and properly maintained
Meet with general manager weekly to review current service department performance, set future performance objectives, promotional activities or any other matters
Ensure that a quality assurance process is in place and exercised
Ensure that all the necessary shop equipment is in proper working condition
Submit and collect warranty claims
Maintain accurate records and ensure warranty parts retention as outlined, following all manufacturer requirements as outlined in manufacturer and company policy and procedures manuals
Catalog and secure specialty tools
Maintain the highest possible standards of workmanship, advise technicians of service CSI on a monthly basis
Serve as liaison with factory representatives when need arises
Monitor staffing levels, compensation levels and department turnover
Establish and maintain a good working relationship with vocational and technical schools to enhance recruitment activities
Understand and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect service and parts operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know act, etc.
Assist in development of annual service budget for use in connection with annual sales forecast
Maintain customer satisfaction index rating above that of manufacturer or dealership average
