Overview

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Marketing Strategy Project Manager to join our Motorsports team in Marietta, GA. The Motorsports (MTS) Marketing Strategy Project Manager will work cross-functionally with the marketing team, Product Line Managers and other departments/groups to develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate YMUS initiatives to achieve MTS goals and objectives that support the marketing direction for priority product segments (including Parts & Accessories). They will help direct and manage agencies of record to assist with the implementation MTS marketing strategy as well as work closely with global distributors and affiliates, including Yamaha Motor Corp. (Japan), to plan, create and coordinate the delivery of consumer-facing assets. They will assist with the development of MTS marketing strategies including key digital marketing initiatives, consumer off/on-line activities, media relations/valuation and more to be integrated and leveraged cross-functionally.  They will lead the project management efforts across MTS marketing to ensure planning and implementation are in line with product line/marketing direction, goals and timing. Operational duties will include but are not limited to budget forecasting, tracking and reconciliation; support and assist creation, coordination and distribution of content to key marketing team members and across MTS marketing channels; assist with the development, implementation and valuation of earned/paid media strategies; serve as key point of contact and communication within the marketing team to assist with coordination and tracking of advertising, digital, events, media, sponsor partner and Racing marketing opportunities/initiatives.

 

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

·       Work cross-functionally with marketing team and product line managers to develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate (project manage) marketing initiatives to support key/core products including Parts & Accessories. Assist with MTS digital strategy development and project coordination/implementation across multiple Yamaha divisions and groups.  Act as key contact/facilitator for all stakeholders to ensure accuracy, consistency, clarity and timeliness of marketing direction/messaging.

·       Serve as key inter-departmental stakeholder to ensure the MTS marketing team work together to achieve MTS goals & objectives, to include but not limited to managing distribution and circulation of approved content/messaging; overseeing the coordination of on/off-line marketing activities including demo conversion tracking; coordinating media/ambassador/partner content development and distribution as appropriate.

·       Manage MTS Marketing Camps to develop 7-step marketing strategy for priority products and services.  Coordinate and hold Marketing Camp check-in meetings to project manage 7-step implementation. Create and compile tracking document to measure, monitor and report KPIs/ROI post-launch to ensure strategy/activity success and facilitate countermeasure development and implementation as necessary.

·       Assist with coordination of asset planning, communication, creation and distribution to global distributors and partners.  Work with YMC to ensure asset/cost-sharing protocols and processes are in line with both YMUS and Global direction to achieve MTS goals and objectives

·       Identify and facilitate content sharing opportunities between media relations, advertising/content and digital marketing teams to ensure all appropriate assets are maximized and in support of MTS marketing goals and objectives

·       Assist Marketing Manager with managing $20M MTS marketing budget including forecasting and tracking to include monthly monitoring and re-forecast timing reconciliation.

·       Coordinate and assist with overseeing agencies of record to ensure accurate, timely communication and implementation of MTS marketing strategy, including integrating and maximizing paid/earned media.

·       Assist with marketing partner/sponsor valuation and realized return to maintain and grow brand image. Cooperate and coordinate with key team members to identify and negotiate agreements with partners to support marketing goals and objectives

·       Presentation material development to assist with executive management status/project reporting and check-ins.

 

Decision-Making Responsibility:

·       Works under supervision of senior manager with high degree of autonomy with respect to decision -making and leading members of the marketing team to follow agreed upon MTS marketing and product line direction.

·       Will manage and represent final recommendation/decision in many aspects of the role including appropriateness and feasibility of created/sourced content to be shared via MTS channels, on/off-line initiative coordination, asset planning/sharing and more.

·       Will facilitate and lead team-based marketing strategy development via Marketing Camp 7-step process to support go-to-market initiatives and tactics for key MTS product and services

 

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing.  MBA preferred.

·       Minimum 7+ years in Advertising/Marketing with increased responsibility and extensive digital marketing experience as well as a passion for and knowledge of Powersports and related products

·       Motorcycle/RV product experience highly preferred

·       Strong verbal/written communication skills

·       Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects, exhibiting superior time management skills with minimal supervision under tight deadlines

·       Able to create/present/deliver strategic brand/marketing messages and direction to a wide variety of audiences, including executive management

·       Proven contract/sponsorship negotiation skills

·       Superior computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) required

·        Ability to travel as needed, approximately 20%
