Overview

WPS is seeking an experienced Warehouse Lead Receiving/Inbound Clerk from the local Midlothian, TX area for our busy regional distribution center in Midlothian, TX. The Lead Receiving/Inbound Clerk assists the Inbound Manager and other department Supervisors in planning, directing, and administering various operational and inventory activities within the warehouse, primarily focused on receiving, storing, and stocking received goods. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills and be able to professionally and effectively interact with a wide range of departments and personalities while working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

Well-qualified individuals will have two plus years of experience in a distribution center lead role, as well as a strong knowledge and understanding of warehouse operations and receiving processes. Candidates must also be comfortable working with a computerized order entry and inventory  system. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by assisting Receiving and Warehouse supervisors and other Management, keeping them updated and informed as required
  • Assists departmental Supervisors and Managers with administrative functions, including training of other team members
  • Advises Management of any equipment needs, repair needs or other maintenance requirements
  • Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine inbound priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet receiving schedules.
  • Oversees incoming shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of goods
  • Works with the departmental Supervisor to determine space requirements within warehouse for received goods, along with staging of product within overflow warehouse.
  • Directs movement of shipments from the receiving platform to storage and work areas
  • Compiles records of unfilled inbound orders and non-conformities
  • Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies
  • Coordinates and provides leadership for assigned warehouse staff to receive products effectively
  • Assists in ensuring optimal receiving flow, troubleshooting quality issues and monitoring incoming orders
  • Contributes to overall team success by accomplishing any tasks and assignments as needed or directed by management

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE    

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a distribution center/warehouse environment REQUIRED
  • Associates degree or higher PREFERRED (but not required)
  • Dependable, reliable and highly motivated, with demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills REQUIRED
  • Resolute personal and business ethics, with the highest standards of professional conduct at all times REQUIRED
  • Working knowledge of supply chain processes, including shipping/receiving flow, inventory management, process control, logistics planning and general warehousing operations REQUIRED
  • A demonstrated personal commitment to safety in all areas at all times REQUIRED
