TECHNICAL ACCESSORIES ANALYST
 
 
KTM North America – a subsidiary of KTM, a global leader in the off-road motorcycle competition segment and developer and producer of street as well as off-road motorcycles – has an exciting opportunity for a TECHNICAL ACCESSORIES ANALYST located in AMHERST, OH.  
 
SUMMARY
 
Under general supervision, the Technical Accessories Analyst is responsible for aspects of technical product management such as market analysis, inventory analysis, product lifecycle, and supporting forecasting to ensure the profitability for both the KTM and Husqvarna brands.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

• Supports the 360 product plan process for technical parts and works with PG&A Procurement Team in order to establish and maintain a streamlined system to complete purchase orders, monitor product sell-through and inventory levels, complete obsolescence reports and make recommendations regarding new and existing inventory. 

 

• Partners with Marketing, Sales, Product Planning, and Procurement teams to conduct market research, identify and evaluate trends, and review general population demographics in order to help establish strategic pricing while maximizing sales revenue and profit margins.

 

• Analyzes motorcycle industry market data and competitive activity to ensure the Company’s technical accessories are consistently meeting the needs of our consumers. 

 

• Collaborates with KTM global headquarters in Austria on long range product plans for the North American market to ensure our market needs are met regarding pricing, time to the market, parts fulfillment and inventory levels with an end goal to provide products that enhance the KTM and/or Husqvarna brand, product ownership and lifestyle experience.

 

• Works closely with the Sales, Marketing and Customer Service departments to provide necessary Technical Accessories product timing, availability and inventory numbers information to ensure each department can successfully provide excellent customer service to our dealers and end consumers.   

 

• Utilizes SAP and Movex systems to conduct ad hoc reporting. Reviews, compiles, analyzes, and presents data in order to make recommendations to various departments and senior management.

 

• Some international and domestic travel is required for product introduction and training.

 

• Performs other duties as assigned.

 
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Generally requires a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in product pricing and product management, preferably in the motorcycle industry.Required proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related field required. MBA preferred.
 
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 

• Extensive knowledge of the powersports industry with specific knowledge of the MX, offroad and adventure segments.
• Knowledge and experience with quantitative and qualitative market research tools.
• Strong project management and analytical skills. 
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as work cross-functionally throughout the organization.
• Ability to use general computer software programs as well as the ability to learn proprietary software programs.
• Ability to make critical decisions, work in a team environment, ability to be flexible and react quickly to a dynamic environment as well as work collaboratively with colleagues on a global level.

JUDGEMENT/REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to recognize discrepancies and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy.  Requires ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when issues need to be escalated.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  The noise in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy.  Other factors are:

• Travel required primarily throughout US with some international travel, approximately 30%
• Hectic, fast-paced with multi-level distractions
• Professional, yet casual office and garage work environment
• Ability to work extended hours as required which can include weekends
