Overview
Steel City Harley-Davidson, located 20 miles South of Pittsburgh, PA is the premier full-service Harley-Davidson dealership that has an immediate opening for a company in house Senior Accountant. This position is for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of monthly financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, maintain a set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Also, to include reporting to Harley-Davidson Motor Company on a monthly basis.
Day to Day duties will consist of the following but not limited to: Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures. Manage outsourced functions, Payroll, Lease agreements, some HR functions, etc. Oversee accounts payable. Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed. Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis. Maintain the chart of accounts, and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Reporting: Issue timely and complete financial statements to the owners and Harley-Davidson. Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual tax return documents to the companies accounting firm. Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations. Work directly with internal department managers to produce annual budgets and financial forecasts. Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management. Provide financial analyses as needed by owners.
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent business experience and 4+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation. Harley-Davidson dealership experience is preferred due to the internal software that all Harley dealers use with the integrated accounting and reporting modules.
This position will report directly to the owners and oversee an office manager and title clerk. This is a full-time salaried position. Exceptional computer skills in the operation and functioning of all programs used by the organization, i.e., Microsoft Suite Excel and TalonES (Harley software).
