About the Team
The MotoSport Engineering Team is looking for talented Software Engineers for front-end and back-end software development roles, creating awesome customer experiences and new ways for our customers to buy the best parts and gear for their Dirt Bikes, ATV’s, Motorcycles, Cruisers and UTV’s.  Our engineers develop cross-platform, web-based applications that look great and perform at blazing speed.  We use a variety of technologies including PHP, Python, Spring MVC, Play, Solr, and Node.js and assist the product and business teams to create experiences that thrill our customers.
 
About the Job
As a Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in the area of web-based software development and design scalable solutions to complex user experience problems.  This role is specific to the data and software layer that supports the website and business, including databases/data stores, mid- and back- end tools, as well as search/browse technologies and REST web services.
 

• Build great software products to delight customers.  Period.
• Develop cross-platform web-based applications using leading-edge technologies and frameworks such as Laravel, Spring MVC, Play, Solr, and Node.js
• Raise the bar.  Share your ideas and experience with other engineers and advocate for best practices, great usability and exceptional quality
• Work with product managers, UX engineers and business teams to understand the customers, their requirements and design scalable solutions to thrill customers.

 
Qualifications
Are you the kind of engineer who automates everything and love to see the results of your work in production quickly?  Do you have a passion for the powersports and outdoor retail customers and desire to make a direct impact in the customer experience on our site, wowing them with our user interface?  Does this describe you?
 

• 3+ years designing and building software in various object oriented, interpreted and dynamic languages (PHP, JavaScript, Python, Java, C++, C#, Ruby, etc)
• 3+ years using various data storage mechanisms (Relational DB, Cloud Storage, NoSQL, etc).
• 3+ years experience using PHP, SQL / Data Architecture, NoSQL and REST
• Experience with at least one strongly-typed language (Java, C# or C++) required.  
• Basic experience with HTML/JS/CSS required
• Experience with managing thread concurrency, and complex build toolchains preferred
• Familiar with various web architectures, platforms and frameworks
• Experience building RESTful API’s within an SOA environment
• Passion for test-driven development and modular designs.
• Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
• Prior success in implementing continuous delivery is a plus.
• Experience working within SCRUM or Agile environments a plus.
• Powersports enthusiasm a plus, but not required
