Software Engineer – MotoSport.com
At MotoSport.com, connect our powersports (Dirt Bikes, ATVs, UTVs, Motorcycles, Sport Bikes and Cruisers) customers to their passions through the best selection, awesome customer service and cool technology solutions. We’re looking for a Software Engineer to help us develop the platform stack on which to build our next generation of cool tech solutions.
The MotoSport.com Product Team’s purpose is to build awesome user interfaces and user experiences as well as the features and functionality to take the MotoSport.com website to a new level. We pride ourselves on exciting our customers by presenting the right products in a blazing fast, functional and pleasing experience. The MotoSport.com Software Engineer’s primary purpose is to hook it all up and make it happen.
If you are the right candidate for the job, you have done full stack software development before, have experience working in an online ecommerce environment and know what
makes ecommerce websites tick. You know how to architect solutions that require little or no maintenance. You’ve made mistakes over your career and have learned a lot from them.
In this role, you will:
●Use your PHP, CSS, HTML5 and JavaScript/jQuery skills to deliver the changes, features and functionality on the MotoSport.com roadmap to drive growth through increased conversion.
●Work with the business teams, designers and product managers to design, A/B test and build the right user experiences on MotoSport.com
●Consume RESTful web services and process JSON
●Optimize MotoSport.com and supporting sites, services and components for speed.
●Use technologies like Apache, Varnish, Redis, Couchbase, MongoDB, Spring, Jenkins, Neo,and others.
●Deliver amazing website experiences to the MotoSport.com customers.
You will be a strong candidate if you:
●Have 7+ years of software development experience using PHP, ideally in an ecommerce environment on a front-end website. We have a homegrown stack, versus a Magento, Drupal or other off-the-shelf shopping cart framework.
●Have experience writing websoftware for desktops, tablets and mobile devices. Mobile sites is a must, Mobile apps a plus.
●Have experience testing your software with unit testing as well as headless browser testing. Experience building unit tests into an existing environment a plus.
●Have applied experience writing software and webservices using Java, C++, C#,PHP or Python using Object Oriented Design principles professionally.
●Have experience building LAMP stack sites to run in the Amazon cloud, ormigrating legacy webcode bases to the cloud.
●Have working knowledge/basic experience with Linux, Source Control (Git/SVN), Scrum, Node.js, etc .While they’re not required to do the job, they are a plus.
●Have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
●Are passionate about the outdoors and powersports, as well as thrilling customers.
