Sales Porter

Overview

Harley-Davidson of Greenville, the largest volume dealer of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, Parts & Accessories, and General Merchandise in the Upstate, is looking for enthusiastic and professional individuals to join our team as Sales Porters. These team members will drive customer loyalty by providing exceptional customer service to each and every guest. Ideal candidates have outgoing personalities and enjoy working with people to understand their needs and get what would be best for them.
 
Required Experience: Outgoing, friendly personality and superior communication and customer service skills. Responsible for moving bikes into and out of the sales and service area, storing bikes properly. Wash new and used motorcycles for sales and service departments. Must have current motorcycle and drivers license. Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
 
Job Responsibilities:

• Help Sales Department employees to run an efficient, clean and customer oriented department.
• Helping Sales and Service Personnel.
• Ability to accept and follow directions.
• Wash and Detail Motorcycles. New and pre-owned ensure they are clean and ready for display or sale.
• Assist management with keeping the sales department clean and organized.
• Assist with new motorcycle un-crating and set-up.
• Maintain and periodically check inventory of charged motorcycle batteries.
• Assist sales or other dealership personnel, when asked.
• Work safely and effectively.
• Able to prioritize and work as a team.
• Safely drive company vehicles towing trailers.
• Drive forklift.

Customer Service:

• Greet customers immediately, in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Handle requests quickly and courteously.
• Other Duties – As assigned. 

Physical Demands:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• Requires use of both hands.
• Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, handle tools and lift 40lbs of material.
• Requires the ability to balance and push a 600+ lb. motorcycle.

Working Conditions:

• Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
• Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials or other toxic materials commonly found in a motorcycle Service Department.
• Occasionally, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
