Overview

Introduction:
We are looking for a hands-on mechanical designer to lead the development of motorcycle accessories from the concept phase to volume production launch for multiple brands (PM, Burly, XM). This is a great opportunity to work for an exciting, product focused company in the unique Harley Davidson motorcycle aftermarket.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Understand and integrate into HD market to understand relevant design and product trends
  • Initiate and prototype new product ideas
  • Hand fabrication (welding, tube bending, grinding, foam carving)
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings using Solidworks
  • Project manage accessory development (lighting, headlight grills, mirrors, fairings)
  • Manage vendor or sister company to detail design and prepare product for production
  • Prepare launch and gate reports for management

 Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in product design and/or product development in the transportation industry
  • 3D modeling parametric design & 2D drawings (preferably Solidworks)
  • Interest and experience in the Harley Davidson motorcycle industry
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Motorcycle License
  • College degree or higher

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bike building experience
  • AWS certification
  • 3D rendering (Keyshot/3DS Max)
  • 3D scanning experience
  • Experience optimizing designs for manufacturability
  • Familiarity with MS Project, Wrike, or other project timing software

  • Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional manufacturing equipment as found in a typical manufacturing environment.
