Bookkeeper/Accountant

Overview

Power World in Granby, CO seeks a qualified bookkeeper/Accountant. The ideal candidate will hold an accounting degree, have experience with Light Speed and the Power Sports industry and be comfortable working in a fast-paced business environment. Power World will train the right applicant, but a proven track record as a bookkeeper is a minimum qualification.

Job duties include but are not limited to: 

• Manage accounts receivable and payable
• Payroll
• Prepare and submit monthly sales tax
• Reconcile cash, all bank accounts, receivables, payables, accruals and inventory on a monthly basis
• Prepare detailed financial reports
• Process payments
• Conduct daily banking activities
• Balance general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries
• Maintain historical records by filing documents
• Purchase supplies and equipment as authorized by management
• Monthly reconciliation of every bank account
• Maintain petty cash fund
• Follow accounting policies and procedures
• Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process
• Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
• Evaluate accounting and internal control systems
• Developing and monitoring business performance metrics

Qualifications / Skills:

• Proven bookkeeping experience
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
• Experience with Lightspeed EVO
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Previous bookkeeping experience preferred
