Overview
Position Purpose
The Title Clerk processes new and used vehicle sales transactions, verifies information for the accounting department and prepares legal transfer documents for the state department of motor vehicles
Compensation
1. Wage range – $15 to $22/hour (depending on experience)

Education/Experience
1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. Minimum 2 years previous title work experience preferred

5. High level of professionalism and strong customer focus
6. Valid driver’s license
Essential Functions
1. Process and verify financial and legal documents of motorcycles to finalize sales deals
2. Prepare and process title, tax documents, and/or renewal registration of sold, traded, or wholesaled motorcycles
3. Prepare legal transfer documents to submit to state motor vehicles departments
4. Verify and analyze free-and-clear title issues, odometer readings, and VIN numbers
5. Process and verify incoming titles and MSOs accurately
6. Deliver titles to the finance company, purchaser or purchasing dealer
7. Ensure compliance to state, federal, or local laws in processing titles and vehicle registration
8. Process sold motorcycles warranty and extended warranties with OEMs and contracted 3rd party suppliers
9. Verify the authenticity of insurance coverage and supporting documentation in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
10. Maintains the security and stock of registration plates and safety inspection stickers and documentation
11. Ensures all applicable fees are collected accurately and accounted for appropriately
12. Communicates with external agencies, general public, and office personnel
13. Provide follow-up on titles from payoffs
14. Work directly with tag agents to process out-of-state transactions
15. Accurately record all vehicle liens and title corrections as needed
16. Verifies funds have been collected and correct lien holder has been paid before processing title applications
17. Stays abreast of all title regulations by attending seminars and participating in available training
18. Maintains all required certifications
19. Process and reconcile motorcycle trades with other dealers
20. Maintain a list of all outstanding title work
