Overview
SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Homologation and Compliance Specialist uses technical and regulatory expertise working closely with internal and external parties to obtain regulatory approvals or exemptions for KTM Group products from government agencies in the United States and Canada.
Maintains the comprehensive archive/database of compliance documents, prepares mandatory product reports, research of regulatory topics, investigates DMV / NHTSA related issues, administers the test vehicles fleet, and participates in compliance relevant workshops, seminars or similar.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Performs administrative tasks related to specific regulatory and industry standards compliance that KTM Group products must meet.
· Research of various product compliance related topics and prepares feedback on US/CAN specific inquiries from HQ, in coordination with external consultants.
· Coordinates project related topics with outside certification consultants on the engineering and regulatory side.
· Conducts, prepares, and submits routine compliance reports.
· Attends in-house technical trainings to stay up to date with new product development.
· Creates and maintains an archive (computer database) of all homologation and compliance related documents for reference upon request.
· Manages and tracks invoices, purchase orders and parts orders.
· Handles various special projects, as required and performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Generally, requires a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in motorcycle / E-bicycle industry related government regulatory affairs/technical documentation. Required proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Technical training and/or certificates or equivalent experience in related field required/preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Attention to detail, especially with regards to technical specifications.
· Ability to read and understand complex regulatory documents relating to homologation/compliance topics
· Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and understand when to escalate potential issues
· Advanced motorcycle engineering and mechanics
· Motorcycle endorsement and experience required
· Basic electric (vehicle) engineering knowledge
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven and constantly changing environment
· Flexibility to switch gears with little notice
· Excellent organization skills
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy; must be a team player
· Analytical abilities
· Must be self-motivated with ability to use own initiative

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise in the work environment is usually moderate. Other factors are:
· Ability to travel if needed. Travel is minimal in this position. Local travel 30%. Potential for out of state and international travel (less than 10%).
