Overview

SUMMARY

Under moderate supervision, the Shipping Coordinator is responsible for handling all outbound freight shipments and related tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors the packable orders in the buffer area at Home Base and builds packable carts for the packers, as needed.
  • Assists packers with technical questions regarding the overall packing process.
  • Provides guidance and direction to shipping team to coordinate workflow between picking and packing
  • Responsible for ensuring all packages are loaded onto the UPS/FedEx trailers and trucks.
  • Organizes and coordinates outbound freight shipments and communicates to the appropriate parties when shipments are ready to ship. Works closely with supervisor to determine proper shipping method for larger shipments.
  • Monitors the WMS for special orders and communicates the information to the appropriate parties to ensure the items are prepared before shipping.
  • Ensures that all HazMat packages are labeled and shipped properly.
  • May assist in the picking/packing process during peak business demand.
  • Performs other duties as required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Generally, requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving or similar environment. Required proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:  High school diploma required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Yes. Supports and implements warehouse management initiatives, as a team leader.

JUDGEMENT/REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to recognize discrepancies and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy.  Requires ability to use judgment and reasoning skills and determine when issues need to be escalated.
