Salary Range: from $28.00 per hour
Higgins Powersports, Central Massachusetts’ premier powersports dealership, is looking for an experienced and hardworking Service Writer to join our team! As we celebrate 50 years of delivering top-quality ATVs, motorcycles, side-by-sides, and more, we are seeking a motivated, hardworking, dedicated individual with a good attitude for our high-volume dealership to provide stellar service to our powersports customers.
As a Powersports Service Writer, you will lead a team of highly experienced, qualified technicians who diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance service on all types of powersports vehicles and equipment. 3+ years of powersports or automotive service writing is required for this role. Excellent customer service and communication skills are required, as you will act as the main point of contact for customers and be responsible for communicating all appointments, costs, and updates to customers throughout their service experience.
Please note that this is NOT a service technician position.

Schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Saturday 9:00AM – 4:00PM, Saturdays required
Compensation: Starting at $28.00. Willing to pay more for the right candidate with prior experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate with all service customers to understand their concerns, diagnose vehicle problems, and provide a prompt, no hassle experience to all customers
Build relationships with customers to keep them coming back for future service needs
Schedule service appointments for customers, assign jobs to service technicians, monitor service progress, calculate charges and process payments
Recommend products and services that will keep the customers safe and their machines performing optimally
Maintain consistent communication with customers regarding their job status to ensure their service needs are completed as promised and on time
Manage complaints, returns and resolve customer grievances.
Lead the service technician team by scheduling and assigning jobs to technicians, hosting team meetings, and managing service department operations
Oversee the operations of the service warehouse and service bay to ensure the area remains clean, stocked, and organized
Perform basic service tasks and seasonal projects as needed, such as moving machines in showroom and preparing customer machines for seasonal storage
Work hand in hand with sales and parts departments to provide an excellent customer experience from their initial purchase to all future parts and service needs
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years previous experience in automotive or powersports service writing, service technician, or related role
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to explain service needs and repairs to customers
Excellent customer service skills with a patient disposition and ability to resolve conflicts
Must be able to work retail hours and Saturdays
Automobile industry experience and knowledge – a passion for powersports is a plus!
Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus!
