Inventory and Allocation Planner

Helmet House is the leading U.S. distributor of helmets and apparel in the Motorcycle and Powersports industry. We are in search of an experienced Inventory and Allocation Planner to join our Merchandising Team.

For decades Helmet House has supplied Powersports Dealers across the U.S. with two of the world’s top helmet brands; SHOEI and HJC. Helmet House is headquartered in beautiful Calabasas Hills, CA, within minutes of Southern California’s world-famous motorcycling/biking & hiking roads.

In this role, you will be busy, you’ll never be bored, and there is no such thing as a typical day. The new role will report directly to our VP of Merchandising. The Inventory and Allocation Planner will work closely with the Logistics Manager, Director of Products, and Brand Managers.

Responsibilities Include:

• Planning – Create demand forecasts and open to buy projections for multiple brands.
• Inventory – Oversee new SKU set-up and maintain Item Master and product attributes. Manage all inventory levels in two distribution centers and transfers as needed.
• Merchandising – Continuously improve processes and procedures to increase inventory turns and GMROI, and reduce mark-downs/close-outs.
• Purchasing – Responsible for purchasing and allocation to support on-time delivery of products.
• Suppliers – Monitor and report on supplier on-time production and fill rate metrics.
• Own Brands – Work with Product Development to generate short-term and long-term product line plans.
• Distribution Centers – Work with DC managers to set min/max levels and bin location sizes, balance inventory, and track unit velocity.
• Customers – Track and advise on Premier Dealer inventory levels and performance and work with Sales Team to improve results.
• Finance – Work closely with CFO to coordinate purchasing and inventory levels with financial planning.
• Sales – Communicate in-stock position, new arrivals, and ETA dates to sales team.
• Reporting – Develop and product key inventory planning and allocation reports

Requirements

• 3-5 years of purchasing/inventory management experience; experience with multiple distribution locations, and long-range planning/forecasting is required
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Must be proficient in analyzing large data sets in Excel
• Must have experience with relational databases
• Experience with ERP implementations a plus
• Ability to use limited data and reports to make decisions, identify problems, and improve inventory turns is critical
• Experience with multi-store retail a plus
• Detail oriented and able to meet timelines
• Ability to work both independently and in team settings
• Strong organizational skills
• A clear communicator with solid written and oral communications
• An individual that’s collaborative, motivated, and has a positive attitude is a requirement to join our team
• Experience in motorsports or action sports a plus
