Dealer Development Specialist – Murrieta, CA
KTM, a global leader in the off-road motorcycle competition segment and developer and producer of street as well as off-road motorcycles, has an exciting opportunity for a Dealer Development Specialist located in Murrieta, CA.
SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Dealer Development Specialist is actively involved with the development and administration of key department projects as related to developing new dealers in North America (United States and Canada).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the development and administration of key department projects, including, but not limited to:
- Dealer Performance Evaluation – Conducts evaluation of dealers based on Company performance standards, makes observations and conclusions using past expertise, recommends course of action for problem dealers, and collaborates with District Sales managers in action plan to improve dealer performance.
- Retail Identity – Coordinates the communications with dealers and vendors concerning showroom branding and setup.
- Training – Assists in the development of dealer training curriculum and conducts training.
- Conducts market analysis to identify and present development strategies for key markets. Runs reports, interprets and analyzes data, and presents and makes recommendations to management.
- Administers “Become a Dealer” program inquiries. Involves receiving inquiries (via website, phone, other), conducting an initial review, routing the inquiry to the appropriate party, ensuring follow up, and tracking the status of all inquiries via Excel worksheet. As part of program, also conducts dealer interviews, evaluates potential dealers, and makes recommendations to management on potential dealers.
- Coordinates new dealer orientations. Collaborates with internal contacts and new dealers to ensure training, tools, products, etc. are provided. Includes arranging events and/or meetings, etc. May develop training curriculum and facilitate meetings.
- Coordinates communication efforts (direct mail or other) to market area prospects.
- Maintains and updates department reports.
- Assists with various department meetings/presentations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Generally requires a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in dealer development, sales, and/or retail identity experience within North America specific power sports or similar premium brands. High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related field required.

External: New dealer prospects (owners, general managers, etc.)
JUDGEMENT/REASONING ABILITY: Ability to recognize discrepancies and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy. Requires ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when issues need to be escalated.
