Overview
We are an established Powersports parts and service retailer looking to fill the position of Parts Manager. We sell primarily online, where we have a 100% feedback rating on eBay. We have been in business for 10 years, and we have grown every year. This is a full-time position Monday thru Friday at our Upland, CA facility.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and complete all parts ordering: Communicate with vendors to check stock, then quickly and accurately order parts using purchase orders. Source alternates when parts are back-ordered.
- Oversee all parts that go out from the facility for service; create purchase orders, see that parts are properly shipped or delivered, tracked and accounted for, and received back in a timely manner.
- Monitor deliveries: Regularly track purchase order status and communicate with vendors in regards to ETAs, tracking information, and backorders.
- Oversee the receipt and check-in of parts: Ensure parts received and quantities received match purchase orders and vendor invoices; inspect parts to make sure they are correct and not damaged.
- Liaison with vendors to obtain RMA for incorrect or damaged parts, and rectify any shortages.
- Ensure incoming parts are directed to the correct locations – either added to sales orders or put into stock, properly labeled, in the correct bin locations.
- Coordinate parts invoicing: Using Quickbooks, ensure all vendor invoices are received in and reconciled with purchase orders on a daily basis. Update prices, descriptions, and bin locations when necessary.
- Support Parts Department Staff: Mentor and train parts pickers and shipping clerks, and be a source of information for others in the department. QC sales orders prior to them being processed for shipment.
- Inventory Control: Perform cycle counts and keep stock levels updated in QB. Set Min/Max levels and implement cyclical ordering. Ensure parts are not misplaced and cut down on waste.
- Liaison with the front office staff about orders that are parts complete, orders for which the parts are back-ordered, and price discrepancies. Assist sales reps with stock checks.
- Fill in wherever there is a need to ensure Parts Department runs smoothly and efficiently.
Qualifications Required – Candidate must have at least two of the following three to be considered
- Min. 1 year of general experience working in the Automotive, Motorcycle, Watercraft, or Powersports industry.
- Min. 1 year of experience in a Parts Manager role in the Powersports, Off-Road, Motorcycle, or Automotive industry.
- Min 1 year of experience in a Purchasing role
Qualifications Desired
- Competent in using a computer and the internet, and be able to use Accounting Software (i.e. Quickbooks, MAS, etc). Must be able to use online OEM microfiche as well. If you are not good with a computer you will not be successful in this position.
- Familiar with all of the parts in an engine, how they fit together, and what their functions are.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs overhead.
- Ability to stand and move for several hours
- Must be able to multi-task well.
- Must be able to reasonably commute to the 91786 zip code
- Strong multi-tasker
- Previous experience using Quickbooks.
- Self-starter, able to work successfully with little oversight
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Service writing for repair jobs
Compensation:
- Pay starts at $70,000 to $75,000 annually based on experience. After the first 3 months there will be a raise, the amount of which will be based on the performance of the entire Parts Department.
