Body Shop General Manager

Overview

Oversees and manages the operation of the business.  Responsible for maximizing return on investment, profit and loss, daily operations, business planning, and business development.  Has direct responsibility for managing and developing employees for future growth.
 
Job Responsibilities:
 
Operations and Management

• Establishe and communicate operating policies and procedures for business.
• Balance the demands of employees, suppliers, customers, owners, and community.
• Develop, analyze, and review business strategies.
• Establish and accomplish plans to grow and enhance business operations.
• Ensure accomplishment of financial targets and revenue goals.
• Maximize productivity levels of staff.
• Set and/or approves compensation plans for employees.
• Provide appropriate training for team to have the skills to do their job. 
• Manage and maintain employee performance (evaluate and counsel).
• Establish departmental work schedules, balancing the work loads of all employees. 

Customer Service

• Maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction.
• Gain the trust and confidence of new customers.
• Give special attention to repeat orders to ensure the situation is corrected.
• Handle customer complaints reasonably, showing empathy and a positive attitude, and demonstrate our commitment to Make Things Right.

Job Requirements:

•  5+ years management experience within a motor vehicle dealership
• Current, valid motorcycle license.
• Knowledge and experience with repair and reconstruction of motorcycles, and other products/services offered by the dealership, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn them.

 
Physical Demands:
 

• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• Occasionally required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand on feet for lengthy periods of time, up to 8 consecutive hours
• Occasionally requires the ability to balance and push a 600+ lb. motorcycle.

 
Working Conditions:
 

• Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
• Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials or other toxic materials commonly found in a motor vehicle service department.
• Exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
