Accounting Manager

We're a franchised Harley-Davidson motorcycle dealership looking for an organized manager for our accounting office. We're looking for someone who can:

• Hire, manage, and train accounting staff;
• Hold others accountable for performing their tasks properly and on a timely basis;
• Work accurately, efficiently, and meet deadlines;
• Function as part of a team, and pitch in when others need help;
• Take ownership of, and pride in, the accounting function for the store.

The accounting manager reports directly to the controller, but also works closely with the general manager and owner.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in a computerized accounting environment, with at least two years of supervisory experience. An applicant with formal training in accounting is preferred. Applicants must be competent in using email, spreadsheets, and the internet in performing their daily tasks. Prior dealership experience is a definite plus, but not a requirement.Specific job duties include (but are not limited to):

• Hiring, training, and supervision of clerical personnel.
• Review of daily reconciliations for all incoming receipts.
• Preparation of various operating reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Preparation of payroll twice each month for approximately 40 employees.
• Administration of employee benefits.
• Preparation of monthly sales tax return.
• Reconciliation of bank accounts.
• Monthly review of various balance sheet accounts to facilitate month-end closing.
• Quarterly preparation of payroll tax returns.
• Annual preparation and submission of W-2 forms, 1099 forms, etc.

The normal workweek for this position is Tuesday – Saturday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm (or until required work is complete). Please do not apply if you cannot work on Saturdays. This is a full-time position, with company-provided insurance, paid vacations and holidays, and a retirement plan. The starting salary range is from $38,000 – $42,000 depending on experience.
