Overview

Thunder Tower Harley- Davidson in Columbia,SC  has an opening for an Accountant. This position requires accounting work of some difficulty and the maintenance of a complete set of accounts and fiscal records for the capture and summarization of financial transactions utilizing a computerized dealership management system.  Knowledge of accounting theory, principles and procedures is a position requirement.  The position is responsible for the operation of all accounting related features of the dealership management software, the preparation of financial and statistical reports of dealership management and for the submission of monthly financial information to Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

Essential Duties
Assist with the day to day, monthly and year end operations of the Finance Office.
Perform general ledger account reconciliation, including bank statements, fixed assets.  
Process GL journal entries.  
Assist with AP, AR, and payroll to ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid timely and accurately.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, tax reporting, adhoc reports and budget reports while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data.

Education
BS/BA in Accounting

Experience
Must have at least 5 years of experience in Accounting, with multiple locations and inter company accounts. Preferrably with a Harley-Davidson dealership or automotive dealership.

A passion for motorcycles and the Harley-Davidson® way of life is helpful.
Ability to communicate effectively to resolve problems with other dealership employees, suppliers, Harley-Davidson representative and government agencies.
