OVERVIEW

WPS is seeking a talented, creative, detailed focused Product Line Manager 1 (PLM 1) to be responsible for the SEGMENT strategy for the assigned FLY PRODUCT SEGMENT, and the successful execution of the seasonal product line in partnership with Sales & Branding, Purchasing, and Marketing.

The primary focus of this role within the PRODUCT CREATION TEAM is to provide product and market intelligence to the TRIAD (Designer, Developer, and PLM) and other key stakeholders with the clear objective of increasing market share. The PLM 1 will define and help manage specific SEGMENT product offering, pricing, and positioning strategies. The PLM 1 is a critical link to, and within, the brands key stakeholders (Sr. Management, Sales & Brand, Purchasing, and Marketing) ensuring that intended project scopes, financial metrics, timeline communication, and finished product deliverables from the PRODUCT CREATION TEAM, are being met and executed.

The PLM 1 will be responsible for crafting insightful and impactful product briefs and analyzing consumer and competitive trends. Brings quality products to market that engages and delights our consumers while meeting margin targets. They will also be responsible for creating impactful presentations at the appropriate gates to advise and inspire the TRIAD and key stake holders around our seasonal strategies and stories.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for setting the specific SEGMENT direction each season and overall SEGMENT line planning thru individual product brief creation
  • Define segment strategy including market positioning, market research, margin goals, pricing, product diversification, specific features and options
  • Communicate and manage plans throughout Product Creation, Sales, Purchasing, and Marketing teams
  • Create, oversee, and manage product briefs (PRF’s)
  • Coordinate product introduction and market exploitation
  • Facilitate vendor communication, pricing, MOQ’s and schedules, and relay pertinent information to Purchasing
  • Attend key Product Creation Milestones to ensure the business brief is being met
  • Manage and tracks customer satisfaction through metrics and reviews
  • Participate in the product decision making process and measuring product success
  • Suggest approaches to Marketing and Sales & Branding in order to drive brand direction and growth

DESIRED QUALITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience or 5+ years of relative work experience is required
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required
  • Must have excellent project management, presentation, and customer skills
  • Solid business acumen and ability to use statistics to compile, analyze, and recognize trends
  • Ability to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, budgeting, and developing business strategies
  • Ability to motivate others and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management both within and outside of the company structure
  • Must be able to successfully navigate through the wholesale and retail operational aspects of a predominantly relationship-based dealer distribution network
  • Knowledgeable about, and able to successfully link, the product, the application, the channel partner, the end user, the market and the competition
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work independently
