Overview
Develop, implement, and sustain cost-effective automated manufacturing processes using standardized documentation, metrics, and lean principles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
● Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
● Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees at all levels
● Assist in the implementation of efficiency improvement along with fostering a continuous improvement culture
● Develop process sheets and standards for manufacturing
● Monitor processes through time studies, routings, and value stream mapping
● Assist and/or lead the implementation of new processes for quality and efficiency gains
● Assist in the design of tools and fixtures with the Tool Room and Programming Department
● Assist / design automated solutions to manual systems (i.e. kitting, load/unload parts, etc.)
● Design cell layouts and maintain plant layout
● Assist in the selection of new machines
● Design jobs and procedures that are ergonomically sound and safe
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Experienced working in a production manufacturing field
● Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
● High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
● Well organized and self-directed
● Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of computer applications
● Knowledge and understanding of internal combustion engines
● Experience with CAD, preferably AutoCAD and/or Solidworks
● Ability to analyze and express data using multiple forms of media to a diverse audience
● Must be able to read a Blueprint, GD&T a plus
● Project Management experience preferred
● Robotics / automation system solution development, setup and programming knowledge a plus
● Lean Certification a plus
● Experience with ERP Systems helpful
● B.S. Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, similar degree, or equivalent experience
PHYSICAL AND PPE REQUIREMENTS:
Employee is regularly required to:

● Walk, stoop, crouch and bend
● Reach above shoulders
● Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
● Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
● Must comply with safety equipment standards; safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes
TRAVEL:
● Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected
