POSITION TITLE: Senior Financial Analyst

DEPARTMENT: Finance/Accounting

REPORTS TO: Controller

LOCATION: Viola or La Crosse, Option for hybrid schedule after becoming intimately familiar with business

 

 

Position Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst will be a member of S&S Cycle’s Finance Department and will be exposed to all aspects of the business through experiential learning and cross-functional opportunities.  The position will have direct line reporting to the company Controller and a dotted line working relationship to the CFO and other department leaders on a project-by-project basis.

On a daily basis, the position will have core responsibilities within the accounting function to be able to serve as an effective backup to the company Controller.  On a monthly basis, the analyst will also assist in month end procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.  In addition, the position will have a very heavy focus on analyzing business trends, creating, updating, and analyzing key reports, and providing actionable information to leaders of the organization.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

o   Develop analytical tools and processes to assist in management decision-making processes

o   Assist controller in completing assigned accounting department processes, including, but not limited to, the monthly financial close process and certain daily tasks

o   Prepare financial/operational reports and ad hoc financial analysis

o   Collect, analyze and interpret data, quantifying financial opportunity and risk, and effectively communicate the optimal business decisions/actions

o   Learn all treasury processes to support business continuity plan

o   Perform root cause analysis and partner with other functional areas to drive proactive solutions through process and technology solutions

o   Participate in and/or lead business initiatives and special projects

o   Support the development of annual operating budgets and tracking performance against budgets

o   Continue to develop and support accurate forecasting processes

o   Other projects or duties as assigned

 

Required Skills and Experience:

o    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline that can effectively fulfill position responsibilities

o    3 years accounting, finance and/or analytics experience with progressing responsibility

o    Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs, with an advanced skillset in Microsoft Excel, and ability to become proficient with Google applications

o    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

o    Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

o    Demonstrated business curiosity and acumen with high level of analytical/problem solving skills

o    Ability to work with large amounts of data and effectively interpret the information into actionable reports

o   Must present a professional image and attitude

o   Highly organized, detail oriented and capable of multitasking

o   Self-motivated individual with great initiative and ability to work independently

o   Strong work ethic with proven ability to consistently meet deadlines

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

o   Advanced certification in finance, accounting, and/or analytics (e.g. CPA, CMA, Data Analytics, etc.)

o   Experience working in a manufacturing environment

o   Previous experience in cross-functional project work

o   Experience working within an ERP and BI system, preferably Epicor based

 

Other Expectations:

o   Individual will need to be on-site for training and to become familiar with the business.  There will be an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule after demonstrated competency of the business and position.

o   This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

o   Travel expectation would be minimal and likely limited to travel between company locations, as needed
