Plans and implements the organization’s safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.  Provides safety program training to new hires and all OSHA mandated annual training requirements.


Thoroughly understand and adhere to corporate goals, objectives, and strategy
Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health & Environmental rules and regulations
Conduct training and presentations to managers and employees on work site safety practices, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment and other materials
Monitor compliance to policies and laws
Inspect facilities to detect existing or potential safety and health hazards, determine corrective or preventive measures, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented
Lead the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations
Compile and submit accident reports required by regulatory agencies
Oversee the administration of workers’ compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier to reduce employee lost time
Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs
Maintain safety files and records

Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Experienced safety professional in the manufacturing field
30 Hour Osha Training Certification
Degree in Safety, Environmental or Industrial Hygiene or related work experience preferred

Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
Must comply with safety equipment standards; safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected
