TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer

DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing Engineering

REPORTS TO: Manufacturing Engineering Manager


Develop, implement, and sustain cost-effective automated manufacturing processes using standardized documentation, metrics, and lean principles.


Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees
Assist in the implementation of Lean Principles along with fostering a lean culture
Develop process sheets and standards for manufacturing
Monitor processes through time studies, routings, and value stream mapping
Assist and/or lead the implementation of new processes for quality and efficiency gains
Assist in the design of tools and fixtures with the Tool Room and Programming Department
Assist / design automated solutions to manual systems (i.e. kitting, load/unload parts, etc.)
Design cell layouts and maintain plant layout
Assist in the selection of new machines
Design jobs and procedures that are ergonomically sound and safe


Employee is regularly required to:

Use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls
Talk and hear
Walk, stoop, crouch and bend
Reach above shoulders
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
Must comply with safety equipment standards; safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected


Experienced working in a production manufacturing field
Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
Well organized and self-directed
Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of computer applications
Knowledge and understanding of internal combustion engines
Experience with CAD, preferably AutoCAD
Must be able to read a Blueprint, GD&T a plus
Project Management experience
Robotics / automation system solution development, setup and programming knowledge
Lean Certification a plus
Experience with ERP Systems helpful
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in related field
B.S. Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar degree
