Overview

R&S Powersports Group, New Mexico’s #1 Powersports Dealer Group, is looking to hire a Senior Accountant who will assist the Controller in fulfilling the required functions of the accounting department.

A qualified applicant should have a minimum of five years of accounting and relevant work experience. In the event you have experience in a powersports (Lightspeed EVO), automotive or major unit dealership environment, this will be a major plus in the opportunity to join our winning team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares timely and accurate monthly financial information and management reports as assigned.
Prepares journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statements.
Assists the Controller with required audits and corporate reporting.
Analyzes and monitors specific accounts as assigned.
Assists Controller with record retention.
Assists Controller with creating and updating SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Maintains up to date and accurate SOPs for the functions of the job and functions of staff.
Supervises accounting staff as assigned.
Trains and develops accounting staff as assigned.
Cross trains staff and is cross trained in all duties of the accounting department.
Develops, enforces and audits internal controls as assigned.
Works with other departments on accounting related matters and company initiatives.
Assists Sr. Management and Controller with special projects.
Meets goals and deadlines consistently.
Attends meetings as required.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent discipline. Work experience can be substituted for advance degree.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience with financial reporting methods and analysis.
Experience with accounting audit processes
Experience with internal controls.
Experience in training and developing staff.
Experience with word processing and electronic spreadsheet software programs in order to prepare reports and analyze data.
Experience with major unit sales, service and support systems is a strong advantage
Ten key by touch
Ability to learn and adapt to the industry leading dealer management system in place

Ability to develop procedures and implement.
Ability to set up procedures for multiple locations
Ability to analyze complex problems.
Ability to review and prepare detailed financial & accounting reports.
