Overview

The Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) is the national trade association representing manufacturers and distributors of motorcycles, scooters, motorcycle/ATV/ROV parts and accessories, and members of allied trades such as insurance, finance, and investment firms, media companies, and consultants. MIC Events is responsible for producing the American International Motorcycle Expo, MIC Symposium, and other events.  The AIMExpo was created to serve as the catalyst to bring together industry, press, dealers, and consumers in a single arena that creates a grand stage for motorcycling and Powersports in the U.S. and North America.

 

The Motorcycle Industry Council is looking for an Account Manager. This position is responsible for securing new business and increasing revenue through booth sales and sponsorships for the MIC’s annual tradeshow by connecting with exhibitor prospects in the Powersports industry via phone calls and face-to-face meetings for their individual assigned territory.  The account manager secures exhibit space contracts, deposits, payments and assists with customer service while achieving the sales goals in their assigned territory.

 

The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, energy, and a team spirit. Someone who enjoys working with and in the Powersports industry is a plus!

 

Job Duties include (but aren’t limited to):

·       Schedule and conduct face-to-face/video meetings/sales calls with prospective and current customers as necessary in order to achieve assigned sales goals.

·       Develop and consistently follow sales plan with guidance from the Show team

·       Develop and maintain relationships with exhibitors by providing great customer service and becoming a “trusted advisor” to our customers

·       Through the use of our survey and research results, understand our customer demographics and use this information to help exhibitors reach their targeted customers

·       Constantly seek leads for potential exhibitors and sponsors from every possible source such as advertisers in other media, internet sources, competitive shows, association members, networking, referrals, etc.

·       Suggest marketing and promotional ideas to help drive booth and sponsor sales related to the show

·       Follow standard sales procedures, including ensuring that all contracts are signed and space is paid in full prior to moving into the show

·       Provide on-site floor management at the show and assist show management with the coordination of the move-in/move-out of the show

 

Requirements:

·       High School diploma or equivalent relevant experience.

·       5 years of proven sales and/or business development experience in trade show or Powersports industry

·       Commitment to Customer Excellence by great telephone manner and customer relation skills and friendly demeanor in the most stressful of situations.

·       Excellent administration and organizational skills

·       Enthusiastic, proactive, and takes initiative

·       Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Acrobat

·       Ability and willingness to travel
