Summary Description

Plan and execute advertising, events, product promotion and activities to help achieve exposure for this Las Vegas based company.

 

Key Results Areas:

  • Coordinate and plan events for all in-house and remote activities.
  • Direct and coordinate production of advertising and promotional spot announcements, press releases and direct mailings to customers.
  • Work with local radio stations for remotes, newspaper and magazine publishers and distributors.
  • Handle community related events involving local businesses, nonprofits, charity events and fundraising.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Advertising and Promotions Department Operations

  • Consult with General Manager on all advertising, promotional and event ideas.
  • Discuss and create promotional ideas with other department managers.
  • Confer with officials of newspaper, billboard advertisers, ad agencies, radio and television stations to negotiate advertising contracts.
  • Create, review and/or oversee newspaper/magazine, radio or television, social media, and other promotional publications.
  • Write press releases, newspaper, and magazine ads.  Create advertising and promotional materials (fliers, signs, etc.) and shop to find the best printers to produce them.
  • Manage periodic direct mail campaigns for the business.
  • Organize company events, such as open houses, anniversary celebrations and customer centered promotions or events.
  • Monitor and analyze events to determine cost effectiveness of each event.
  • Create and maintain a positive image for the company in the community.
  • Authorize information for publication such as interviews with reporters or articles, interviewing different departments or in accordance with any activities with the company.
  • Build partnerships with surrounding businesses to promote the company and brand.

Customer Service

  • Send out mailings on new catalog availability, customer clinics and any other notifications necessary for incentives to visit our company.
  • Distribute fliers on upcoming events.
  • Attend training sessions to keep current with marketing and event planning techniques that will benefit the company.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • Must have an outgoing, likeable personality.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated “promotional skills”.
  • Knowledge and experience with high volume marketing and event planning.
  • Proven ability to work with existing and new technology including cell phones, computer programs, editing software, email, texting and more.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and staff using multiple platforms such as email, calls, texts, social media and marketing programs.

Physical Demands:

  • To be present at the events which are promoted.
  • To be able to work extended hours occasionally for offsite or after-hours events.
  • The position will demand time walking throughout the business, standing, sitting at a desk, digital screentime and occasional traveling.

Working Conditions:

  • Sometimes exposed to chemicals or airborne particles.
  • In door and outdoor events that can range in temperature and decibel volume.

Compensation

  • Compensation is an exempt annual salary ranging from fifty to sixty thousand dollars based on experience.
