Job Summary:

Elk Grove Power Sports, a leading dealership in Elk Grove, California, is seeking a Technical Advisor to join our team. This is a full-time, management role with a base salary and commission structure. Experienced auto technicians, motorcycle technicians or powersports technicians are encouraged to apply.  In-house training will be provided. As a Technical Advisor, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support to our technicians and customers, assisting in the smooth and efficient operation of our service department.

– Work with manufactures and assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting problems.

– Communicate directly with manufactures, providing technical data and support in an efficient and professional manner.

– Stay updated on industry developments and changes in technology to ensure our team is using the most effective and efficient methods.

– Assist in managing and overseeing the performance of technicians, providing feedback as needed.

– Collaborate with other departments such as sales and management to provide a seamless customer experience.

– Assist in tracking and maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, and parts.

– Attending manufacture training online and in person. (Travel required)


Daily Duties:

– Work directly with the Service Writer/Manager on the dispatching of repair orders.

– Work directly and assist multiple lower-level technicians.

– Converse with customers, should a technical conversation be required.

– Download and Upload vehicle on board computer information.

– Be the first point of contact with the manufacturers for warranty repairs.

– Effectively communicating with manufacturers via email, case, or phone.

– Perform diagnostic procedures and repairs as outlined by the manufacturer.

– Work with technicians on proper documentation.

– Assist Service Manager on technician and overall shop efficiency.

– Perform technical work as needed and maintain a set efficiency rate.

– Perform warranty submissions as needed.


– High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or certification in a technology field preferred.

– Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role, with a strong understanding of diagnostic tools and repair methods.

– Strong leadership and communication skills.

– Ability to collaborate with team members and work in a fast-paced environment.

– Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment as needed.
