Baton Rouge and Hammond Harley-Davidson are looking for an aggressive, take charge assistant service manager to lead a busy, expanding service department. Candidates must have motorcycle service operations experience with proven leadership and ability to run a large shop or multiple locations with a high level of quality output and customer satisfaction.
The Assistant Service Manager will be responsible for achieving maximum profitability of the service department while focusing on customer retention. To achieve this, he or she must effectively lead and manage personnel; have a strong knowledge of the service market, and possess an in-depth understanding of how the service department affects other departments’ numbers and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS & JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Experience as a lead service writer or assistant service manager
Motorcycle background strongly preferred
Harley-Davidson enthusiast preferred
Possess sound judgment and decision making ability
Experience with Lightspeed EVO a plus
Current, valid motorcycle license
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Department Operations
High customer satisfaction
Maximize productivity levels of service technicians and writers
Monitor billing, warranty and internal repair orders
Ensure employees keep a clean, efficient, and orderly department
Manage profitability of department
Handle customer complaints reasonably
Instill trust and confidence in all customers
Give special attention to repeat orders
Grow the volume of service work
Develop promotional campaigns
Maintain efficiency reports on Service Technicians and writers
Review reports with Service Manager/general manager
Develop monthly and annual goals with Service Manager
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary and Commission based on experience
